ARAVEN GROUP’S BALANCE SHEET FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2023: REINFORCING GROWTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

The balance sheet for the first half of 2023 shows the success of Araven Group’s strategic plans to increase international presence, develop new products and improve efficiency. We have achieved important milestones in our two areas of work, Retail and Hospitality, while the company continues to make progress in its sustainability plan.

New developments this year include the launch of the new unified Shop&Roll brand for the entire Retail segment and the award for Araven’s airtight products in the first edition of the Aragon Design and Business Awards of the Government of Aragon. We have also launched the group’s new website and the specific Araven (Hospitality) and Shop&Roll (Retail) websites, and we have presented new products in both sectors.

SHOP&ROLL, WITH THE LARGE RETAIL CHAINS

Shop&Roll started 2023 with a successful presentation at the Euroshop trade fair in Germany, including the launch of the new Loop Connect, and has closed important deals in Europe and America.

Thus, in the trolley and basket line, the supply of 7,400 trolleys and baskets was signed with the Dunelm chain in the United Kingdom, and with Carrefour and Dia Argentina, the installation of a fleet of more than 12,000 trolleys. We would also highlight the opening and first operation with our new distributor in the USA.

New contracts in the Visual Merchandising line have also been important. Shop&Roll has been chosen by Alcampo to change the image of the 115 new shops acquired from DIA; by Eroski to refurbish shops in the Hiper Eroski, Super Eroski and Caprabo formats; by Carrefour to implement 200 hypermarkets and 130 Market shops; by Leroy Merlin, to beautify its 133 shops in Spain; and by Calidalia to promote in-store advertising for its 32 associated manufacturing brands.

ARAVEN, THE CHOICE OF THE BEST CHEFS

In the Hospitality sector, Araven has renewed its collaboration agreements with leading chefs such as Pascal Barbot, Enrique Olvera and Pedro Subijana, which demonstrate how Araven responds to the most demanding professional needs. We have also demonstrated this at the Sirha Lyon, H&T Malaga and HIP Madrid trade fairs.

Turnover figures also show a constant rise. Sales in Spain have grown by 16 %. In addition, following the Makro “Delivery” convention and thanks to the referencing of new articles, we have achieved a cumulative growth of 20 % at our main customer in the first half of the year.

Araven has achieved a 7% growth compared to the previous year in the international field. This success demonstrates our commitment to quality and our ability to adapt to the needs of the global market.

GROWTH WITH COMMITMENT: ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL ACTIONS

To guarantee the future, another priority goal of Araven Group has been to advance in the objectives reflected in our sustainability plan, seeking the lowest environmental impact in all our activities.

This semester we have reduced consumption and emissions by renewing the printing machinery and its purifiers and we have also improved the energy savings of our facilities by modernising insulation, lighting and taps. To continue making progress, the Corporate Carbon Footprint of the Madrid and Zaragoza offices has been calculated for the first time.

In addition, we have continued to launch sustainable products, with the addition of the new mop buckets made from recovered material (Zero Waste) and eco-designed egg cups, which not only replace disposable materials, but also help to avoid food waste.

As a third way of contributing to caring for the planet, we have earmarked part of our profits to support the projects of the organisations AISECO and SEO Birdlife in the restoration of rivers and wetlands. We have also collaborated with donations and contributions to various social projects; among others, the Eurofirms Foundation, for the incorporation of women with disabilities into the world of work; the Ronald McDonald Foundation, which works with hospitalised children; and the international association Alliance for Vaccination.
