The Government of Aragon has distinguished Araven Group with the “Aragon Circular” Seal for its application of the principles of the circular economy in all its activity. This recognition endorses the continuous objective of innovating, reducing environmental impact and caring for natural resources in our two lines of work: products for the professional hospitality industry and equipment and solutions for retail.
The “Aragón Circular” seal is a pioneering initiative in Spain that accredits compliance with the nine guidelines of the circular economy: rethink, redesign, reduce, reuse, renew, recover, repair, remanufacture and recycle.
The aim is to distinguish companies that stand out for their “excellent, innovative, sustainable and circular management”, to support the transition to an economic model that responds to current challenges such as climate change and environmental degradation.
FOURTEEN ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Araven Group has been awarded the “Aragón Circular” seal after passing an analysis of up to 14 assessment criteria, carried out by independent experts.
Examples of the aspects assessed are the percentage of use of renewed, reused and recycled materials; the contribution to circularity in the value chain; the participation in R&D&I and research projects; the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions or the awareness-raising actions with non-profit organisations or with regard to employees.
The seal endorses our long work to consolidate sustainable development as a sign of identity and to promote that the products of our Araven (hospitality) and Shop&Roll (retail) brands help to reduce their environmental impact. To this end, in 2021 we created the Sustainability Area to encourage continuous improvement in all the group’s activities and to influence our innovation and sustainability plans.
THE THIRD RECOGNITION IN A YEAR
For those of us who make up Araven Group, it is a great satisfaction to receive this new recognition, the third in less than a year from the Government of Aragon.
In December 2022, we received the RSA Seal, “Aragonese Social Responsibility”, which distinguishes awareness, commitment, training and transparency with society and the environment, as tools to improve competitiveness and efficiency.
In addition, our hermetic containers for the Horeca sector received in April the Aragon Design and Business Award, created to distinguish activities and projects in which design has played a decisive role. In the first edition of this award, the jury unanimously chose Araven’s airtight containers as Best Product, for their “quality, innovation and aesthetic care”, guaranteeing the best preservation of fresh and processed products and helping to reduce food waste
